I don’t see the point of squabbles. It’s just going to turn into reddit if it catches on. The fediverse at least has decentralization built in and is more flexible if someone becomes a jerk.

There are people that prefers a more straightforward reddit alternative, and Squabbles has been the most promising candidate so far. Not all wants to learn how all these fediverse stuff works.

Personally, I prefer Lemmy than Squabbles but it doesn’t hurt to contribute to more than 1 alternative to that shithole of a site.

yeah even their privacy policy already references an eventual buyout/acquisition so it’s all gonna come down to profit driven motives eventually
