What do you mean by “stupid cheap”? I don’t see that happening soon; I guess we’ll have to wait until the Ampere One becomes available and companies replace and sell their old Altras.

Do you think systems based on the ASRock ALTRAD8UD-1L2T (like this NAS) will be cheaper than the Ampere Altra Dev Kit (AADK)?

Well, usually server lifecycles are about 5-7 years right, mostly because of warranty reasons.
