The recent Black Friday sale on the UDM Pro ($279) had me considering it for my home network but I’m wondering if something like that is more of a luxury vs a necessity.

Internet fiber service would be 1 Gig Up/1 Gig Down.

I had originally been considering something from EdgeRouter but the sale on the UDM Pro caught my eye. Still, $279 is pricey for me on a router and I was curious if it was worth it compared to a Nighthawk setup or something on the edgerouter line.

For what it’s worth I was planning on using UniFi APs and a PoE switch for the rest of the network.

What do you guys think?
