This will just result in more people crying about subjective fouls - why did that tackle get an orange card but this tackle didn’t?.
Adding even more subjectivity into the game for fans to cry about isn’t the answer.
A sin bin could be great, but not with the rules written as they currently are.
Was my thoughts too. I think a sin bin would be very beneficial, although I think it should be a rule for the yellow cards.
For example, when you get a yellow card, you are sent to the sin bin for 10 mins, get another one, then you get a red card as normal. Obviously how we look at yellow cards may need to change, do they need to be slightly harder to get? Kept the same? Can VAR spot a yellow card tackle and retroactively sin bin a player?
Having a rule like this and getting the ref’s mic’d up during games would go a long way in helping in my opinion.
Instead of cynical fouls, introduce that for players clasping their heads, lying on the ground in agony. That might reduce the number of players acting out and treatment and assessment can given to those that are actually injured.
They just need to have an “embellishment foul” like there is in the nhl (like this). The general nhl/hockey culture against this type of stuff helps a ton, but having a rule that even if you are fouled, if you embellish at all, you have committed a foul (and having refs that actually enforce the rule) would be amazing in my opinion.
Adding even more subjectivity into the game for fans to cry about isn’t the answer.
People complaining are more of a problem than refs getting subjective calls “wrong”.
Eh, idk mate. We get one tackle giving a pen one game, then later that same day the same tackle not being given. That’s what frustrates people.
