and damn people here have some ugly recency biased, Odegaard was easily our best player last season and everybody said he was world class even outside the fanbase. He was injured and needs to adapt to some tactical changes and he is still good in his role (he is not supposed to be bruno fernandes pinging every ball to the forwards), calm down.

For me “world class” is defined as “would the best teams in the world find a way to get you into their first XI”. Only guys I see that are in that class are Saliba, and arguably Rice & Saka, though I think those two are just a touch short.

World class for me is: do they get into a world XI + bench?

I think saka and rice are there or thereabouts. Saliba well on his way into that team

To me world class is top 2-5ish players in your position in the world, it requires consistency of top performance, and there is also a base standard you have to clear (this is what determines whether their are 2 world class players at a position or 5).

I would say Saliba, Saka, and Rice are world class. Odegaard was playing at a world class level last season and certainly can be world class, but doesn’t have the consistency yet.

I’d also shout out Martinelli who think can and will become world class, but isn’t yet.
