Hello everyone,

I recently acquired an HP StorageWorks MSA2000 and am exploring its potential applications. I’m interested in understanding how others in this community have utilized this storage system, particularly in different environments and for various needs.

Could anyone share their experiences or insights on:

Optimal Use Cases: What are the most effective scenarios or environments for deploying an MSA2000? For instance, is it more suited for large data centers, small to medium businesses, or specific types of workloads?

Configuration Tips: Any recommendations on configuring the system for optimal performance? This includes suggestions on RAID configurations, choice of HDDs (SAS vs SATA), or network setup.

Integration Challenges: Did you face any integration challenges with existing infrastructure, such as compatibility with specific operating systems or network architectures?

Maintenance and Management: Any tips on the maintenance or management of the MSA2000 to ensure reliability and data integrity?

Performance Optimization: How can one maximize the performance of the MSA2000, particularly regarding data transfer speeds and storage efficiency?

Any Other Advice: Any other advice or pointers you think might be helpful for someone new to using this storage system?

Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated, as they will help me make the most out of this storage solution.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards

I hope you got it for free and did not pay for that thing.

But as for usecase you might want to add what gen box it is and what controller/expander it has installed in the rear.
