It’s almost exclusively about USA right now and frankly I’m sick of this US-centrism.

I think part of the problem is language. Sure I could post local climate news, but it’s not in English, so what’s the point?

Translating tools are good enough these days to be able to convey the gist of an article. On reddit it was in some places common to post articles in a foreign language, with the title of the post being the title of the article translated to english, and a summary in the post/comments. But even without the summary, I think it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle for someone who’s interested in the article to just put it through deepl or google translate or something.
