“video games serve as escapism” is such a bad take lmao, video games came into existence as a way to demo the capabilities of computer hardware and it wasn’t any deeper than that. they typically still serve the same purpose, with the exception of story-based games which are, actually, a place people can and do spread their ideas via storytelling
