They give it so much oxygen and also never fully call out how crazy shit is. It’s all understatement when it comes to conservatives’ behavior and plans and then they over hype any minor issue the progressives have. Looking at you, NY Times…

Don’t these media outlets understand they will be among the first to get thrown into prison camps when conservative dictatorship and revenge is in full swing?

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha

“Most of the ads are not about issues. They’re sort of like the debates,” Moonves said, noting, “[t]here’s a lot of money in the marketplace.”

The 2016 campaign is a “circus,” he remarked, but “Donald’s place in this election is a good thing.” “Man, who would have expected the ride we’re all having right now? … The money’s rolling in and this is fun,” Moonves went on. "I’ve never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us. Sorry. It’s a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on, Donald. Keep going.”

They cannot look beyond the money and their narcissism tells them their money will outlast the fascistic rise they helped to foment. Same reason the billionaires are building their bunkers. They believe they can remain safe via their money

These media outlets basically created Trump’s brand, and “bOtH siDeS” absolutely because it wasn’t conservative news media clips the alt-right were gleefully consuming in 2016, it was compilations of liberal news anchors with “shocked” expressions reciting the latest Trump tweets. Can’t believe it’s still happening but we’re back to Trump outrage news cycles and online reactions to it just like 2016.

Even if the fascists go all-out against the media companies, the CEOs steering these decisions won’t care - they’ve all got millions and millions of dollars, and they’ll have enough lead time to simply hop on their luxury private jet and fly away from any looming danger.

Worth remembering when this comes up that this has been exacerbated recently by leadership changes at the times. They hired some fox fuck heads with the intent to both sides the country into a dictatorship.

Damn. CNN had a similar change relating to new leadership. If not to damage CNN and other traditional news sources, what are they even trying to accomplish? It’s not like conservatives are coming back to replace the progressive viewers who were pushed away. The result is less revenue for CNN; less revenue for NYT…

But maybe that’s the point like with Twitter. They “invest” the purchase price so they can kill the network or ruin its credibility to remove the contrast between the nonsense on Fox, OAN, etc and previously respected organizations.

Plus all the local news stations are being quietly bought by larger organizations with the same intentions if not worse.

Good faith journalism has been experiencing a hostile takeover, and it’s speeding up.

Sadly, billionaires seem to forget that their security will be enjoying their bunkers a lot longer than they will.

They won’t be on top during the post-apocalypse.

They’re out of things to rage about, and clicks and ad revenue probably dropped significantly since Trump’s been gone. They want Trump back in office, he was good for business.

They’d only get thrown in jail if they weren’t willing to bend over for the new regime, and they’ve already shown that they’re very willing to do that.

Some key people are very much at risk, no matter how compliant they are. Donnie diapers holds grudges, man, and so do his crazy, unhinged base of teabaggers. Some of them are still outraged that the press found out about Watergate. And Iran/Contra.

People in Big Tech that push for donnie are also at risk, too. The unhinged teabaggers think all of Big Tech is fill with commie liberals out to “censor” them.
