Tecendil is a great resource to use. I use the English mode of Tengwar Script. So if you’re looking to actually use tengwar script to write in Sindarin or Quena, it’ll look a lil different from mine.

I’d probably start with Tengwar transliterations of English to get a feel for the script, and perhaps after that try my hand at Sindarin/Quenya (which to my outsider’s eyes seem as daunting as they are beautiful).

Tecendil looks indeed handy, thanks for the tip!
