Communist countries also produced a lot of abstract art. Most of it was still soulless though.

The US also prompted artists at the time to make abstract art that’s soulless and sucks to show how “unconstrained” we were compared to soviet realism.

Turns out artists just don’t make good art when force them to draw one specific thing for propaganda reasons.
