I’ve wanted a badge that shows the instance uptime and couldn’t find any, so I created one. It’s available at https://uptime.lemmings.world/{your-domain}.svg and gets its data from fediverse.observer.
Examples:
- Lemmings.world: https://uptime.lemmings.world/lemmings.world.svg
- Lemmy.world: https://uptime.lemmings.world/lemmy.world.svg
- Lemmy.ml: https://uptime.lemmings.world/lemmy.ml.svg
- discuss.tchncs.de: https://uptime.lemmings.world/discuss.tchncs.de.svg (congrats on that uptime, by the way!)
- and so on
The documentation is available at https://uptime.lemmings.world. Feel free to use it for your instance if you wish to.
What’s the time window?
Like, is this uptime over the past 30d? Over the past year? For all time?
IMO, 30d and 365d are the most useful windows.
Alas, 99.99% has slipped through my grasp…
Ooh, vanity metrics!!
It helps that I’m running the only commercial instance in the fediverse.
Indeed. I saw someone mention it on Lemmy and figured I’d check it out. Then I saw registrations were free for the first 250 users and immediately signed up.
You appear to be an ethical businessman, as I see it. Rare enough these days, but also much needed.
