Often referred to as “Blaxit,” which combines the words “Black” and “exit,” the movement has been boosted by social media, where influencers share inspirational posts about their odysseys abroad and challenge others to join them.

Many of those who are leaving are trying to escape their American-ness — yet are also having to confront the power of their dollars and what Wright calls “passport privilege.”

America does not deserve me

Moves to Mexico

Lol.

Judging by the headline I would have assumed they’d have moved to Europe or Canada. Turns out it’s mostly Mexico, Thailand or Africa instead. Well good for them. No one should live in a country where they feel unwelcomed.

StupIDPol: A based critique of essentialism

!stupidpol@lemmy.basedcount.com

Create post

A federated homage to the subreddit of the same name. The original idea is a marxist take on identity politics and the stupidity inherent in it, but we’re fresh out of marxists to run this joint.

Until any marxists step forward to take over, this is a place to post well-tempered stories and commentary about the bonkers world of identity politics.

We got rules, so learn 'em:

  • Follow the site-wide Terms of Service
  • Try your best to keep comments based. Low effort trash talk and profanity aren’t in keeping with the spirit of the community
  • We’re inspired by communists, so yes the moderators can and will abuse our power
