I'm looking for an interview with John Carpenter where he says the 2002 video game The Thing is canon to the series.

I’m looking up fan theories again and keep coming across the claim that John Carpenter in an interview has said the 2002 video game is canon to his 1982 movie, but out of literally dozens of references I have not come across a single link or article quoting John Carpenter yet.

Is there anyone obsessed with this game or the movie who knows what interview I’m talking about?

You never know. I’ve actually had some good luck with reaching out to public figures online. Unfortunately, I don’t have use the twatter either, though.

The game was billed as a sequel and they worked directly with him to make it.

Very cool.

There’s a specific interview or quote that is referenced over and over again online that Carpenter said the game is explicitly canon and I can’t find that yet.

I’ll post an update if I do.
