Dunno why this got downvoted, it’s a great question:

Nokia 3310 - legendary, got stolen

Moto Timeport 7382i

Sony CMD J70 - dial operation menu

Sony Ericsson T610 - joystick got fluff jammed.

LG Viewty - mediocre iPhone imitation but great slow motion vids 120fps

Blackberry Curve 8520 - batteries heat and swell when browsing! All the apps were shit, and no games. … but the physical qwerty keyboard was divine though - fastest I have ever typed AND accurately!

iPhone 4S - solid

Samsung (not sure which) too small

Moto G7 Power - 4 years still sweet.

Gotta love old Firefox on any platform, never lets me down

I’m not going to highlight all the phones I’ve ever owned, quite a few were second-hand and didn’t last long.
But I WILL use this opportunity to wax nostalgically over my old Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. It was tiny, the battery lasted for two days easily, water proof and it was bright orange/red.
It was the perfect phone for me and I’ve never seen anything like it again. Sure it was slower and the resolution was nothing spectacular, but it did everything I wanted and it was so easy to carry with me.

Highlights:

  • First phone: One of the mid-90’s Motorola MicroTAC’s
  • First smart phone: Moto Droid
  • Current phone: Samsung S10+
  • Favorite phone: LG Envy 2

  • several cheap phones from Motorola, Sagem, Samsung, etc. (I couldn’t afford a Nokia 3310)
  • some no-name feature phone
  • some Chinese 60€ smartphone
  • Samsung Galaxy J5 (used)
  • Samsung Galaxy J2 (got it for free)
  • Gigaset GX290
  • Unihertz Atom

I’ve never spent more than 150€ on a phone. If you debloat them and use open source apps, you really don’t need many “features” or much CPU-power/memory/storage.
And I don’t think I’ve ever a used a different browser than Fennec, cause that’s what pops up if you search for Firefox on F-Droid.

Yes, I had an MP3 player before I got my first smartphone.
Or, if you’re asking about apps, I used Vanilla Music Player. But nowadays I either use Spotify or a cassette player.

  • Some kind of black and white Motorola
  • A cheap color Nokia phone
  • A (I think) Motorola camera phone
  • Palm One Treo 650
  • Samsung E1150
  • Wileyfox Swift
  • Motorola G5S Plus
  • Pixel 4a

I only have fuzzy memories of the first couple phones. I got into the smartphone game pretty late in 2016 (unless you count the Palm, which I bought used and which broke very quickly). Actually my main motivation for getting a smartphone was to play Pokemon Go.

As for browsers: Only got mobile internet with the Wileyfox. Used Chrome on that, switched to Firefox at some point when I had the Motorola.
