I just saw the voyager app is implementing this, can we get it on Memmy?

So I’ve seen that they did this, yes. My concern has always been the pretty significant number of requests that would need to be made to make this work, but I’m open to trying it out now that the API is seemingly getting to be more stable. We will play around with this and see what we can do for you all 👍

Thank you for all the work you’re doing on this app! It’s awesome to use and my favorite option for Lemmy so far.

I understand how it could become an issue especially with scrolling too fast, would there be a way to temporarily disable the feature if the app is submitting too many requests in a certain period of time? Just a thought, you guys are the experts!

there is a GitHub ticket for this, and devs says that is not currently possible without updating the Lemmy API

Maybe that could be done locally only, storing the list of scrolled posts to mark them as read, not sure if the sync with the server is imperative here.

I mean yes, it could be done, but it’s up to devs whether they want to store this data locally. It could be really huge.
