I am looking to scan all the documents that I need, but do not need the originals of.

The built in Notes app offers pretty good scanning functionality, but exporting/syncing to non-Apple devices is a nightmare.

I’ve heard about the Paperless-ngx document managment software. Does this software (or some similar alternative) have an iOS app that would make scanning hundreds/thousands of documents easy and streamlined?

What is your setup for:

  1. Scanning
  2. Organizing
  3. Accessing

Thanks

Probably not very helpful, but I recently discovered Quick Scan for IOS which is the only scanner app I’ve found so far (other than Notes) that doesn’t collect any data. Organizing scans within the app seems pretty good as well.

I use genius scan, it works well for me and it has a one time fee instead of recurring, if I recall.

I use genius scan as well. Never paid for it. I can scan in bulk and export as a pdf.

If you have other use cases, this might not be the best. But there’s a lot more paid features.

What is your issue with exporting from Notes? Docs scanned are still PDFs and easily shareable/exportable with one click with Airdrop/email etc. And I find the indexing excellent, so I drop everything into Notes now and forget about it, and when I need something, a simple search pulls it right up.

Paperless-ngx + Quickscan App, OCR is done on the phone and sent with a custom action to paperless-ngx.

  1. Scanning: Nextcloud built in scanner is really good (iOS app)
  2. Organizing: I have been searching this for a long time
  3. Accessing: NextCloud?
