I just moved into a 3 storey townhouse. My ISP provided a device that works as both modem and router (Techsavvy if anyone from GTA is reading this). It is located in basement as thats the only place with a coax cable from electrical panel available.

But I am not getting any signal on top floor. I have concrete ceiling in each floor.

There are 10+ devices now and I intend to add more smart home devices in future. The house was built in 70s and has many ethernet ports across all floors.

What should be the network setup for my place? Should I hire a professional for this?

Ethernet between floors. Hardwire together whatever mesh system makes you happy.

Ethernet rj45 or phone lines rj11? If it’s really Ethernet get a couple access points give them the same ssid and password and be on your way
