Today’s Ask PHlemmy: What was the “dumbest” thing you were scared of as a kid?
Probably quicksand.
I vaguely remember watching a lot of shows in the 90s that had a quicksand scene and it seemed really terrifying.
Took me growing up a little to realize that quicksand isn’t something I should expect to encounter on a daily basis.
I wasn’t afraid of the dark, nor was I afraid of aswangs, manananggal, etc.
No, my young dumbass was afraid of this (first 5 seconds pa lang tangina I was scared shitless (literally would cry sa first 5 seconds pa lang ng music). Never stayed to finish the intro, never even waited to find out what the hell this game was… until like I was 16 (ish).
I was really furious to find out SEVERAL YEARS LATER that this was not even remotely close to a horror game, but a fucking Mahjong game (Dragon’s Eye Plus Shanghai 3). Really glad that no one really remembered from my circle of friends, or else they would have NEVER, ever let me live this shit down LMAO.
This was my #KidsAreFuckingStupid moment.
Cyber-Smoke’s “Earth bomb.”, and the entirety of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 [SNES]
Dahil bwisit na bwisit ako sa acting ni Rami Malek while watching Oppenheimer:
Wait this dude still acts? Never thought he was a good actor from the little I saw him.
Loved him in Mr. Robot. But for some reason he won an award for Bohemian Rhapsody and keeps getting projects with the same stilted one-dimensional acting. And yes, he does the same thing in Oppenheimer. First scene niya pa lang he does the face.
I feel like shit but I’m at work… Fuck this culture.
Good morning Phlemmies.
