Could someone point me in the right direction to find a residential driveway gate system that will only open for recognized license plates? I’ve seen this type of system for commercial buildings and would like to install something similar when we move to our new home.

Digital Watchdog makes a decent LRP camera, tie that to a gate operator contact closure and that would be the simple was to do it without the large factor database used in most commercial settings.
Are you handy with Raspberry Pi? There are a few Raspberry Pi ANPR projects out there. It should be simple enough to use one and send a command to your home automation controller or make a cloudy API call.
You can build this with a camera and code project ai. I do this with Blue iris, HomeSeer and codeproject AI over MQTT.
