WOOOOOOOO

I don’t have a PS5, but I have some Dualsense controllers because they’re AWESOME.

Returnal is an incredible experience that shouldn’t be played with anything BUT a Dualsense. It adds soooo much to the experience.

The adaptive triggers are insane.

I was concerned about how long they’d last, but havent had any issues after like a year.

And it’s not a jarring change, it just feels so natural when it changes how it reacts

Seriously! I was astounded by the haptics, as well. They’re so much better than my other controllers’ haptics. It’s really the best controller around.

Now if only every game could implement effin PLAYSTATION BUTTON ICONS PLEASE

I just wish the fancy feedback stuff worked wirelessly. Wired controllers are so 2000s.

Ugh yeah. Getting the X-Box buttons while playing with a PS controller is so annoying.
In some games like the recent Jedi games from EA you can get the PS prompts by deactivating the Steam input in the options and connecting the controller via USB. But that defeats the purpose of having a bluetooth controller in the first place.

Valve just keeps landing these announcements lately. Seem to be one of the last companies left in the gaming world that gives a shit.

Since they’re privately owned, they can. Once a company goes public they’re legally required to only care about short term profits and nothing else.

The commission they get for every single sale helps…

Hello Epic games. How’s business?

The thing is Steam has been around for a long time. I mean hell my account is 20 years old now. Steam wasn’t always a store though, however, they were first to market as a digital games store.

Anyone know if the Bluetooth connection is noticeably more stable on Steam Deck than the DS4?

Can’t believe it wasn’t already supported, but good is good even if a lil late!

I like the Xbox layout, but apparently PS dual sense is an incredible controller. Swag for all the users.

I think it only works wired on PC (and obviously only on games that support it) but the triggers are insane. Steam input allows you to map dual actions to triggers for partial and full pulls, but consistently executing the right level without feedback isn’t trivial.

There are PS5 games where there’s a clear break point with physical resistance at a half pull for one action, or you can pull through for a second action. On Horizon Forbidden West there’s a couple power attacks with the right trigger where you hold the trigger, and there’s a vibration sequence to indicate two different windows for a first or second different charged attack. You could obviously memorize the timing, and there are ways to do similar feedback with a less precise older “rumble” type vibration, but the way it’s executed in the game, specifically because of the precision of the vibration, is incredibly immersive. It’s very sci fi feeling feedback.

The built in Astro’s Playroom also has some really cool tech demo type sequences showcasing the triggers in interesting ways.

Huh, that sounds really cool!

The only experience I have with anything like that is on the Razer Wolverine. It has toggles for both triggers that allows them to gradually go from 1-100 or instant 1-100. It’s an awesome feature and I love the “control” it gives me over my playstyles.

Haven’t been in the PlayStation environment since I’ve grown up, but y’all are eating good lately!

Not through steam, but I found a really cool add on type thing for ds4windows that configures the dualsense triggers to work and feel like the dual action gamecube triggers. It’s absolutely amazing when I’m emulating gamecube stuff to actually have the same triggers
