The video was good, informing about an important topic that really deserves attention. None of what I’m about to say, detracts from how important this shit is.
But the YouTuber made me feel a bit uneasy, and felt hard to trust, because of what felt to me like unchecked, black and white doomerism at the end.
I agree that capitalism is an overfed parasite killing us, but, at the very least, no, China is neither close (about 1/3rd the size), nor at all on track (confirmed false economic growth charts, with one of the steepest population crises imminent) to overtake the US as a global power. China is only on track to overtake the US, according to China.
To be clear, I don’t think this guy is a hidden China supporter, I think he just confirmation-bias-ed himself into that opinion, out of justified hate. But justified hate is still hate, and needs care in how it makes you act.
But both sides are the same!
