[From proton subreddit]

Today, we’re launching the Proton Drive app for Mac OS as a privacy-first alternative to iCloud Drive. It’s a significant milestone for us because Proton Drive is now available for all major platforms, including iPhone, Android, Windows, and the web app. We’re here thanks to all of your feedback on the Mac OS beta over the past few months. Thank you.

You can download the app here : https://proton.me/drive/download

Features

👉 Sync files from your Mac to the cloud with automatic, end-to-end encryption

👉 On-demand sync to save on device storage space

👉 Access Proton Drive on all Apple devices

👉 Recover any file with version history

I completely agree. But last time I said that on reddit I was downvoted to hell. I said that there are a lot of Linux users on Proton, we are not the 1% in that case. There are more Linux users than Mac users! Nevertheless, I’m still waiting for a Linux version…

They have a business to run. How many of their customers run Linux vs Windows or MacOS?

@helenslunch @akilou sure… and we don’t have to be their customers. Free markets are awesome that way.

Finally. Took them so long that I decided to completely move away from using Drive. I downgraded my subscription to Mail Plus and will probably move off of it when Skiff improves a bit more.

That said, I will still recommend the proton suite to most people. I just prefer to self host.

One year from now:

I’m switching away from Skiff because it hasn’t improved fast enough

Lmao fair. I’d rather self host all my stuff, but mail seems a bit more complex.

Mailbox.org is a great alternative, cheaper and runs entirely of green energy ✌️
