Best router to get for a 2000 sq area. Unfortunately wired isn’t an option at this time but maybe in the future.Appreciate suggestions.
Whatever Asus AX88 flavor is out now.
Why specifically the 88? Versions? Is there some feature that other Asus routers don’t have? I’m currently researching to replace my aging linksys, so your comment caught my eye.
Another question, any thoughts on the Asus RT-AX88U vs a ubiquiti dream router? Both are close in price. My situation is: empty nesters in larger house with a small but growing collection of smart devices. At some point point I’ll add wired access points in the basement and upper floor.
At 2000 square feet one unit might work. If you have brick, stone, or concrete interior walls, then it probably won’t work well.
Usually I recommend one WiFi access point per thousand square feet per floor, especially with stick frame and plaster construction, although more area per AP is usable if the surrounding WiFi radio environment isn’t too crowded.
I use a Netgear Orbi with one Satellite. Covers the whole house, and even my yard.
