As an example, I have this post. On my instance the.coolest.zone, it has 3 upvotes.

The post federated to lemmy.ml as this post, and currently has 37 upvotes.

Am I missing something? I’d totally expect those upvote counts to be shown on my instance as well.

Votes are weird. I’m commenting on this post on lemmy.dbzer0.com, and the vote counter shows 13. But when I mouse over it, it says 167 points - 167 upvotes - 0 downvotes.

On its original instance, kbin.social, I see that it has 6 “favourites.”

Coming back to the dbzer0 tab, the point total now says 2 and mousing over shows 13 points - 13 upvotes - 0 downvotes. That sounds more reasonable, but where did the other number come from? Why doesn’t the displayed number match the mouseover text? Who knows!

Sorry I’m relatively new to this multiverse thing (fediverse?)

I don’t know if it’s “supposed” to work this way so much as it’s just kind of janky right now. ^^;;
