Usually I collect science fiction movies in 4K as there are many effects, such as Interstellar or Star Wars.

I don’t think animated films are worth 4K as you can easily make do with 1080p.

Can see that RARBG releases are also very popular, but the quality is probably best for Tablets or phones. However, I can see that PSA is also good, but I don’t know their 4K releases if they should be good or close to TIGOLE releases.

Which films are worth collecting in 4K, preferably new and old films?

Very compressed low bitrate 4K may be much worse than less compressed high bitrate 1080p.

I prefer to collect REMUX copies of movies I really like.

For my Linux ISOs, I usually am good with 20 to 30GB 4K files. I can’t tell difference from REMUX. The 10 to 15GB look a little wonky though.

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data – legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they’re sure it’s done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time ™ ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.
