I’m using a melee rogue with double daggers and have been upgrading them as I lvl up. Is this a good approach or would I be better off saving the materials for later on and using the weapons as-is?

I will update legendaries that have aspects that I really want to their highest potential for the time being. I’m only a level 40 so I’m uncertain if that is worthwhile for endgame, but at the same time it’s fun to experiment. There are already so many guides out there, and while I admit I’m focusing my first Necro build from icy-veins based on habit, it’s more fun for me to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.

From my experience the amount of legendaries you get that you can then deconstruct to get the materials needed to upgrade is a pretty good amount. I’d say just upgrade if you feel like you need to. On my sorcerer I upgrade everything but on my necromancer I’ve upgraded nothing beyond one piece to finish the introductory side quest.

Thanks a lot. I’ll keep on upgrading and I guess if I find myself short on materials I can always grind for some.

I started upgrading items around ~700 item power, before that seemed kind of wasteful because of how quickly I was getting upgrade. YMMV may vary of course, if you feel like you need an extra boost in power then upgrading early may be the way to go.

Right now my weapons are in the 300 range and the upgrades do seem modest. Maybe I’ll hold off unless I find I’m a little underpowered but this build deals out so much damage that I don’t think that will be a problem.

Starting at about level 20, I always upgrade my weapons up to the third level (the first three upgrade levels only require common components). The fourth level requires more rare components which I want to preserve for the endgame.

Personally, i usually play ARPG’s on hardcore and upgrading items seem to be helping my current HC playthrough. As much as i want “endgame”, the idea here is to survive. Funny enough, my current HC (lvl 32) has outlived and further along the campaign than my main SC character. I dont have much time to play, these days, sadly.
