That’s it. Just gaging how screwed up society is

I live in the Anglosphere so not much in terms of regime. We do get some very, very corrupt locals from time to time. On the one hand, yes, it would be ideal if this kind of thing never happened at all, but on the other hand, I also figure that if we went after a governor for every small blemish, we would end up with a ruling class with no room to function in times of change.

I believe highly in Blackstone’s Ratio and so I don’t look forward to Oppenheimer-style “crude” actions purposefully neglectful of collateral factors. We must be watchful of anything and everything when possible. There are degrees of escalation which are best to be awaited before committing a deed on the same point of the escalation scale, and people wishing to solve problems the old fashioned way will have their time and place, just not whenever they feel like it, or we get moments like the current Israel-Palestine war where not only is there confusion about who the enemy is but where you have friendly fire incidents that risk compromising the main objective of trying to frame the other side.

I believe violence should be the ultimate solution for the people when they have to defend democracy from their rulers. Usually the politicians that rule them, that is.

I live in a parliamentary republic which basically is an elected monarchy.
