Hello everyone,

I would like to hide games that only support Windows, as I’ll never buy any of those games.

Is there a simple way to do that? I found a checkbox in my account settings but it doesn’t seem to have much effects.

Thank you very much and happy gaming

“Problem” is that since the Steam Deck came out thousands of games have been verified to be officially supported. Most of them Windows native.

Plus, for many Linux native games (like the new Tomb Raiders, for instance) the Windows version under Proton actually runs better. I think it’s mostly due to the Linux version often being done by an external developers and their contracts running out, while the Windows version is still getting updates.

Go to

Store >> Menu >> Your store >> Preferences >> Platform Preferences >> deselect Windows

I did that already, but keep getting ads for games like Icarus that don’t even support the Steam Deck via Proton

In that case you should check https://store.steampowered.com/linux on browser, or go to Store >> Categories >> SteamOS+Linux.

Thanks for your advice.

I didn’t manage to hide Windows only everywhere but I found a turnaround by using the “Category” tab.

Not as efficient as I wanted it to be, but at least I got the information I want

Steam supports this natively. In the steam desktop client, click your profile in the top right and push “Account details” now scroll down to “PLATFORM PREFERENCES” and uncheck windows.

I already did that but unfortunately I keep getting Windows only games appearing in the Store

Always hide them? I don’t think so, but you could just browse https://store.steampowered.com/linux ?

Though it may include officially supported proton games? Not sure, tbh.

I think it’ll be really difficult, if not impossible, to hide all Windows-only games, as I believe Steam will still show Deck-verified games and other games that run on Proton well. ProtonDB lets you exclude Linux-native games, so if they have that information, there may be another service somewhere that lets you filter to only include native games, but I don’t know of one.

I may be wrong but I think it only does that if you enable proton compatibility in the settings.
