Chuds on my discord group didn’t get why this is an issue because “it’s opt-in and gives streamers an opportunity to grow their audience and also product placement has been a thing since forever and platforms need to make money” as if exposure can pay your bills and Twitch doesn’t have more money than god.

Incidentally I love the phrasing of that last point in the OP. “No, it isn’t watching your stream, it’s just looking for our product.” Like how tf is it going to do that without watching the stream.
