I’m not an expert in firmware development, but could a person potentially modify the firmware to bypass anti-cheat software? For say, could you change your hardware specifications or serial number?

I’m also no expert but I know enough to know any bypass efforts will eventually result in your account getting banned anyway.

Even if you are not cheating it’s normally against most anti-cheats TOS to bypass their services while in game and modern anti-cheat software is constantly being updated to lookout for that.

Kind of. I’ve edited ovmf firmware to play some games which check for specific strings (for a VM in my case). Anti cheats usually dont care about your firmware outside of that, they care more about your hardware serials (hdd, graphics card, etc)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
