SmartTubeNext is fantastic. Have you checked out ReVanced for mobile? It’s better than NewPipe imo.

I do not have a direct answer for the kodi rwquest, but i usw newpipe for YouTube instead of the official APP.

It is possible. It is also a massive pain in the arse. I got it working but then couldn’t get relevant recommendations or anything. It’s pretty much - know what you want and search for it exactly.
Thankfully my setup is a PC with a keyboard attached so I just Alt+Tab and use a browser.
