Just finished setting up Arch, KDE, exclusively with Arch and AUR packages. No Flatpaks, Snaps, or Appimages. This probably doesn’t seem like much, definitely not the most productive to many, but to me this took a lot of work, I’m proud of myself and wanna share that.

Got backups, both images & books / documents to my cloud and BTRFS snapshots all configured and automated. This was an all-day project after years and years of trying to learn through hardly treated ADHD.

Major shout-out to Nicco Loves Linux on YouTube for making the process of following Plasma’s development so fun. I feel… oddly more connected with the projects and it’s kommunity because of his content. Much appreciated!

Apologies if this post is silly, just extremely proud and happy at the moment. I’m normally a distro-hopper, but I think I’ve found my new home, given how in love with this setup I am. Hoping to get follow up pictures of my KDE /desk setup for the holidays.

Looking forward to 2024 being my first full-year using KDE! 💞

I don’t think the post is silly. You are proud of the work you have done and it’s great you want to share it. :)

Congratulations on getting Arch + Plasma + BTRFS + backups up and running!

Great post! Not silly at all, I should do the same, but right now EndevourOs is just so convenient for me.

I’ve seen many different ways of arranging a desktop before, and never have I seen a center clock on a bottom bar. Still, I do like it. 🎉
