Not sure if that renders the same for everyone, but Iโ€™m very tired of seeing the big emoji letter usernames. Is there an option to convert these usernames to ASCII or otherwise not render them? If not, could this be something that could be implemented? I donโ€™t want to resort to blocking everyone, but I may if thereโ€™s no other choice. Itโ€™s very visually annoying and distracting.

Until hexbear users can use shitty oversized images in their username itโ€™s not good enough.

Butโ€ฆ emojis arenโ€™t the problem there. They should be the same font size as the text.

Your name is, โ€œsirfancyโ€ And youโ€™re complaining about fancy usernames.

itโ€™s โ€œdisplay nameโ€ being presented instead of โ€œusernameโ€, and converting the unicode code to ascii is moot, in my opinion.

Maybe a better solution is providing the toggle option in settings to switch presentation between โ€œdisplay nameโ€ or โ€œusernameโ€.

A more dynamic option that shows the username if the display name isnโ€™t ASCII-only would be great.

They should be (and have been) banned entirely categorically.
