I just had an appreciation for today’s sortie. When fighting the jackal, you have to parazon mercy kill it. There’s this cool animation sequence and I feel like this is how other assassination quests should end. It’s a shame that you can only parazon kill the jackal and exploiter orb iirc. I’m aware about mercy killing/finishers for normal enemies, but that’s only for your eyes. I think it would be nice if other assassination bosses were killed similarly.
DE said they plan on reworking assassinations to be more like Jackal but they never got to it and Parazon isn’t as much used anymore.
They commented in a devstream at one point that boss fights like the Jackal take a ton of work (and have presumably little payoff, though I worry they’re only looking at immediate number changes and not attempting to understand how such things can affect the long-term health of a game).
Personally, I don’t much care for the parazon other than the fact it let me not worry about hacking as much.
A lot of boss fights are boring but they work as they are, but some need a straight rework, like Sergeant, Jordas Golem, or at least some touch up, like Lech Krill (mostly due to bugs), and Ropalolyst (also bugged as hell).
I don’t know, I feel like the Sergeant should always stay as he is just for fun. One meme boss that is basically just some random guy is funny to me.
But yeah, other bosses do need fixes and reworks.
It is pretty cool, tho that may mean changing the current boss fights and animations. And also adding voice lines to not confuse new players. Which I dont see DE doing.
I actually dont like any assasination animations in any games. Instal mod for Skyrim to remove it, and for Fallouts. Also I really dont like immunity bosses have. I want pure fights my build vs boss HP, boss attacks vs my survivability, and thats all. If I grinded enough to get damage cap, I want that respected :D That is why my favorite bosses are Acolytes. I dont like cinematic experience in videogames in general, but maybe I am just weird xD
