What a great goal, superb from Jones to be alert to the loose ball and to drag a marker out of the way, nice pass from Diaz and disciplined to resist the temptation to shoot, ditto Nunez and Salah is in the right place at the right time. Wonderful stuff.
Glad it’s come early too, none of that frustration from the first half carries through now.

Every ref knows you can play advantage AND then come back for a delayed yellow card, right?
2nd half is going to kick off. Lackadaisical reffing for fouls and pernickety reffing for any reaction to that… players are going to start taking it out on each other.

Such a shame that goal didn’t count, but fair play to the linesman, he got it right. The VAR delay was ridiculous though. As was the delay before Salah got to take the pen.
Nunez needs to be scoring those…
Darwin is not that good. He hasn’t level to play for a club like Liverpool, who fights for Premier League and have aspirations to do great things on Champions League. If L’pool pay like 20M£ for him, he had probably already been dispensed.
The problem is Liverpool paid almost 100M, which is absurd. From my point of view, it was the best deal of this century by Benfica. They sold a guy who isn’t that good and won’t even reach Suárez’s heels. He has too many gaps in his game to be a starter at a club like Liverpool.
Otherwise, Szobo looks pretty good player.
