PeerTube has some big problems currently with fashists, but is the only option as an YT alternative in the Fediverse.
I am not able to programm, I would love to create an alternative that somehow stops this facist bullshit (I have some ideas for that)
Dear Fedis, what will we do now?
Just in case you’re not a troll - host it yourself. It’s federated, like lemmy. You don’t need to be able to program.
Check their post history. They’re at best, totally ignorant to the nature of the fediverse and at worst trolling or astroturfing.
Peertube works great. It probably needs better moderation federation same as mastodon (as a mastodon admin you need to download and maintain your own blocklists which is quite tedious).
What we need is the option to automate blocks. If the instances you follow have converging bans, your instance should be able to copy them and that way have bans federate through the system and have trolls and other scum get the boot everywhere.
Source: I host mastodon, lemmy, peertube and matrix instances.
I did, hence the preface Just in case you’re not a troll
. Thought it was worth a shot if it helped strengthen the fediverse.
Sorry. I was merely stating my observation, not trying to be rude.
You did good imo and discussion helps in most of times.

Could you explain? Which instance are you looking at?
Mastadon had a similar issue before the blowup. It’s not possible to stop in a completely open source and federated service. By design, anybody can join in, and create a new instance to do with as they please
If you want to make it better we need more servers that block this trash, and who have larger user-bases than the current ones. Create quality content on reasonable instances, advertise these sites, and bring other creators in
It’s federated so you can join a different instance that moderates how you like. Or create your own!
Peertube is just a tool , you can use it for good or for bad purposes. Does that mean we should boycott Peertube all together? No , because that’s the nature of these FOSS tools. Anyone can use it however they want.
