Take a trip to the southern hemisphere and twists the same ankle there. Except the coriolis effect will twist it back into place.

That ankle will never be the same. It will forever be prone to twisting. It will be important that you keep it strong to prevent further injury.

Sorry bro.

It’s true. I injured my left ankle freshman year of high school and I’m in my 30s now and still roll it semi-badly to badly around once a year. Stupid thing is so weak.

I only every where hiking boots on never terrain now.

People say you can get away with trainers, they are lighter and more comfortable. But my risk of rolling an ankle is too high when I’m out and about.

If I need more than everday trainers I go to a straight boot that locks my ankle in.

First aid for sprains and soft tissue damage, use RICE:

  • Rest it. Try to reduce walking, driving, activities that put a load on the ankle
  • Ice it. Cold reduces swelling and can help with pain.
  • Compression. Use an elastic tube bandage or an elastic roller bandage to support it and limit movement while it rests
  • Elevation. Put your feet up for a few days and catch up on tv

I’m not a doctor, just a random person on the Internet.

I think ice is not recommended these days. NSAIDs do the same and also reduce pain.

  1. talk to a doctor. Make sure it’s a twist and not anything broken. It can take a day or two for extent of injury to be seen. You don’t want a mishealed foot that has to be broken again to heal properly.
  2. if you don’t listen to above, get crutches and stay off it.

Recovery not much maybe some slighly numbing ointment or panadol/neuofen for pain relief. Post recovery its never gonna be the same i reccommend heigh ankle hiking boots that should help keep it reletivly aligned and prevent future fucking around wich it will now for the rest of your life be prone to doing.
