This is extremely simplified and comes off as silly. German appeasement was partially because France and Britain wanted Germany to attack the USSR, partially because they needed time to rearm. The US empire had a policy of provocation and containment of the Japanese empire.

Russia has long pulled many of their ships back to more secure locations to keep them from being targeted. It’s basically typical Russian posturing. They can pretend to block grain ships in the Black Sea all they want but to actually do it they would need to have control there.

So yes, I’m enjoying watching Russian kids bleed out on the battlefield very much, thank you, because everyone the Ukrainians leave feeding sunflowers is another one that isn’t threatening the Baltics or other peaceful countries.

You know the USSR contained eastern europe that wasn’t controlled by the socialists in Yugoslavia right? They integrated them into their democracy after defeating the nazi collaborationist regimes and the Nazis. They subsidized their economies and those eastern European now nations voted overwhelmingly to stay in the soviet union in the last referendum on the issue.
