I have a calibre server setup on my home server and was wondering how to sync it to the version on my desktop so I can upload books to an ereader using USB.
If you want the instances to sync, you just need to sync the directory. (I currently use nextcloud sync for this, but in the past I used synching and before that btsync)
If they dont try to modify the files at the same time (with sync delay) there won’t be any issues. If they do grow out of sync, you can fix pretty easily with db repair.
Syncthing is probably a good choice
@areyouevenreal@lemm.ee My solution is to have the calibre on the server. In my mac, I mount the folder via samba and for Calibre it is transparent.
The benefit is that I also run calibre-web on the server using the same library and DB.
I have my books on a remote share managed with a local calibre install on my desktop for easy transfer
