Iโm still a little confused but Iโm glad to be a part of this change thatโs taking place.
Yeah it feels like more what Reddit used to be! Hoping it gets traction and we get some good app suppory
Same, when sync for reddit will stop working Iโll delete my reddit account
Yeah, Iโm a tad confused, too. But Iโm willing to hang around and check it out for a bit.
Anything in particular that youโre confused about ? @Darx97@lemmy.fmhy.ml @spez_swallows@lemmy.fmhy.ml as well
The whole structure, really. I read the infogram user guide thing, but Iโm still not keen on how โinstancesโ and communities work. What instance can see what, etc. Is there a lemmy equivalent of /r/all?
I recommend you read this post here https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/24569 If youโre still confused I am happy to explain further, as for r/all nope, not that Iโm aware of but if you go to the all tab here you will get to see posts from all the instaces we federate with.
Iโm glad I deleted reddit (boost for android). I guess I couldโve kept the app until the end but I donโt need to be logging in. I gave 10 bucks to rmayao for many hours of use. Lemmy is great and Iโm spending less time scrolling in favor of interacting.
It works well and it feels nice to get a community active.
There are some hiccups in the instances because of the hug of death weโre giving which Iโd expect they recover in a few days. In the meantime, iโll just keep finding more comunities to subscribe with the comunity browser. I just wish there was something similar for kbin communities (magazines I believe theyโre called) so I could subscribe to them too.
I liked kbin as well. The desktop version seems nice and I found it easier to interact with the rest of the Fediverse than Lemmy. Unfortunately, no app yet, and apparently Lemmy is becoming much more popular. Which is absolutely whatever, since thatโs the beauty of the Fediverse.
