Iโ€™m still a little confused but Iโ€™m glad to be a part of this change thatโ€™s taking place.

Yeah, Iโ€™m a tad confused, too. But Iโ€™m willing to hang around and check it out for a bit.

The whole structure, really. I read the infogram user guide thing, but Iโ€™m still not keen on how โ€œinstancesโ€ and communities work. What instance can see what, etc. Is there a lemmy equivalent of /r/all?

I recommend you read this post here https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/24569 If youโ€™re still confused I am happy to explain further, as for r/all nope, not that Iโ€™m aware of but if you go to the all tab here you will get to see posts from all the instaces we federate with.

Iโ€™m glad I deleted reddit (boost for android). I guess I couldโ€™ve kept the app until the end but I donโ€™t need to be logging in. I gave 10 bucks to rmayao for many hours of use. Lemmy is great and Iโ€™m spending less time scrolling in favor of interacting.

It works well and it feels nice to get a community active.

There are some hiccups in the instances because of the hug of death weโ€™re giving which Iโ€™d expect they recover in a few days. In the meantime, iโ€™ll just keep finding more comunities to subscribe with the comunity browser. I just wish there was something similar for kbin communities (magazines I believe theyโ€™re called) so I could subscribe to them too.

I liked kbin as well. The desktop version seems nice and I found it easier to interact with the rest of the Fediverse than Lemmy. Unfortunately, no app yet, and apparently Lemmy is becoming much more popular. Which is absolutely whatever, since thatโ€™s the beauty of the Fediverse.

Iโ€™m already on Lemmy so I donโ€™t see any point (at least yet) on joining kbin, I just want to subscribe to their magazines from Lemmy :)
