According to another user, it is just some people coming from instances that lemmy.world defederated.

Likely script kiddies from big instances from which lemmy.world defederated (recently the attacks correlate with the defederation from Hexbears announcement).

Can’t people get over that really? I am actually asking as i don’t know. I didn’t like the fact that reddit became basically unusable because their app was trash and they destroyed 3rd party apps but i got over it, though noone is the same so i guess the answer is no.

In all seriousness though, it’s been really stable. Even this down time was short. This is a volunteer team and they’re running one of the best instances on the fediverse.
