Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor estimates that over 13,000 Palestinians are either missing under debris, buried in indiscriminate mass graves, or forcibly disappeared in Israeli prisons and detention facilities, where some have even been killed. The circumstances surrounding the deaths of these prisoners and detainees have not yet been made public by the Israeli army, nor have any independent investigators been able to confirm or determine the details of their deaths. These victims’ bodies have not been exhumed, their identities have not been established, andtheir remains have not been repatriated, nor have their relatives been informed.

This estimate is based on initial reports of missing people, and the true number is likely higher. Given the ongoing military attacks and siege by the Israeli government, as well as the illegal practices of the Israeli army that have scattered Palestinian families—particularly by forcing them to repeatedly evacuate without safe passages, separating family members and forcing them to move to different areas, arresting and forcibly disappearing some of them, and cutting off communication between families—it is not possible to confirm the precise number of missing people at this time.

It’s going to be really fucking horrible watching the reality of this gradually come into view after there is finally a lasting cease fire. Some people will act shocked and pretend they didn’t know but anyone paying attention knows it’s there.

Bodies under the rubble, all of the people who died because the health system has been destroyed, the full reality of the looming famine, and all of the people the IDF killed and buried with bulldozers being discovered.

In Cambodia at the killing fields the bodies are barely below the surface in some of the mass graves, some guy’s trousers and thigh bone were sticking up through the dirt. Can’t get that image out of my head while reading this.

Seeing those burnt and half fallen apart bodies being dug up from bulldozed sand hills outside of Al Shifa really gives an image of the insane horror stories the Palestinians are suffering from.

Hello Linkerbaan our resident Hamas supporter! When are they going to release the hostages?

Dude, this is not a funded mass-media community, where you usually hang out.

We are real people with a decent amount of brain cells to know what’s happening in the world. Either keep it constructive or fuck off!

Jesus Christ are you really this stupid? Being critical of the mass murder of an entire population is the same as supporting terrorists?

Are you in good faith trying to argue murdering 30k+ civilians is okay for 2k hostages?

There’s no way only 30,000 died.

With that much destruction and 2 million people, no you’re right, 30k seems very low.

The figure has also been somewhat static for a while now, despite little food, clean water, or health services as all have been denied or destroyed by IDF terrorists. I bet the figure is at least double, but the terrorists have effectively destroyed any reporting capability by Hamas or any third party.

There’s also about 100 Israelis missing too… Any mention of them?

Assuming they were kept hostage in Gaza, which was bombed by the IDF, chances are they were killed by their own people. Neither of them deserved to die, not the 100 Israelis, and not the THOUSANDS of Palestinians.

If the IDF hadn’t committed genocide, and these 100 were found dead after a few months, the Hamas could’ve entirely and rightfully been held accountable for their deaths. No questions asked!

But in this case, the IDF is even more to blame than the Hamas.

All the fucking time. Regardless of how many innocent Palestinians have been killed, injured or starved. It’s getting annoying and nearly at the level of ‘Do YoU ConDEMn HAmas’ concern trolling.

They probably died in IDF carpet bombing and shooting their own citizens.

People ignore this dude, just check his comment history. Obvious Israel support and a possible Zionist.

Best thing to do is block him.

Rules:

  • Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:

    • Post news articles only
    • Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
    • Title must match the article headline
    • Not United States Internal News
    • Recent (Past 30 Days)
    • Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
  • Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think “Is this fair use?”, it probably isn’t. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

  • Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.

  • Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

  • Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19

  • Rule 5: Keep it civil. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

  • Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

  • Rule 7: We didn’t USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you’re posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
