Hi everyone.

I need to do extractions with Phenol-Chloroform and just realized that my current gloves are absolutely not suitable for both chemicals. I did research for hours for the best gloves for that task.

Here in the lab they have “touchNtuff” from Ansell for extractions. I searched everywhere if they are also resistant against Phenol, because the Ansell page does not say. Regarding to fisher science they are not. Oops.

I found “microflex 93-260 chemical resistant gloves”. Phenol takes more than 30 Minutes to penetrate those - and Chloroform 3 Minutes (which is a pretty good time in comparison).

Does anyone of you know even better disposable gloves that are resistant against Phenol-Chloroform?

Have a chart: https://www.augusta.edu/services/ehs/chemsafe/PDF files/gloveselechart.pdf

It seems that the winner for your combination is Viton.
