Lemmy.nz is now running the latest version of Lemmy. This is a massive update. Some more discussion is available here.

Please let me know if anything isn’t working right. Hopefully there are some previous bugs that are fixed.

Feel free to reply with tips or new things you’ve discovered about this version!

Two important things:

  • 0.18.0 has breaking changes. If you use the mobile app Jerboa, this was updated to support 0.18.0 but no longer supports sites running the older version of Lemmy. If you use a different app, you might need to update it or even wait for an update to support 0.18.0
  • your browser will probably cache the old version of the page and everything will break. If you’re on a computer then shift+refresh button should fix it, otherwise try clearing the site data in the settings. On a phone it might be trickier, but I had success holding down the refresh button on Firefox for Android.

Be aware of the new 2FA feature and incompatibilities with the likes of Authy. Just something to keep an eye on… https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3309 https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3325

For anyone who’s having trouble logging in, try clearing your cookies and cache.

I was getting a completely blank homepage but found it loaded properly in a private tab.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that!

Yes, it does seem to require a hard refresh. Shift+refresh seems to do it on a PC. On a phone it might be trickier, but I had success holding down the refresh button on Firefox for Android.
