History was made in Minnesota on Saturday. The state’s new flag rose for the first time, just in time for Statehood Day.

A lot of Minnesotans have opinions on the flag. Some spent Saturday hoisting it up in their yards, while others are mourning the change. In St. Paul, one man took it to another level — he hosted a Minnesota-themed party in celebration of the new flag.

I’ve not heard them called Minnesota sushi, but pickle wraps are delicious! My vegetarian friend cheats once or twice a year, and one of the few things they eat are pickle wraps.

Let them know that tofurkey deli slices make great substitutes for the ham. I’m especially a fan of the peppered ones. They’re a little thin, so might want to double up.

There’s a dish that I’ve only seen on staten Island, NY. A small hot pepper, stuffed with prosciutto and provolone cheese.

Those tortilla and cream cheese “sushi” rolls are pretty good. I always just heard them called rollups. On second thought, I don’t know anything about the pickle version though… ones I have seen were tortillas with cream cheese and ham. So I guess something totally different.
