Fresh wheelset for my single speed and i noticed this out of the box. Should i be worried or is it fine?

That’s an easy fix, you can pay someone or do it yourself. Just search “rimjob” and you will find videos

I handle all my own rimjobs. It was difficult at first, but learning to be flexible when these problems arise is ultimately a very satisfying endeavor.

Something is wrong. The shim is not holding correctly. I think the spokes might be over tensioned, but I would try and replace it.

I am a former Buyer for a bike shop chain. I’ve handled thousands of bikes. This is not normal.
