Just gave my bike and bags a rinse on this bicycle washing station, the BICIcleaner. I rode past one already yesterday but kept going, happy to find another one today. Both were in San Sebastian or a suburb town, located along cycle paths.

San Sebastian is in Basque Country.

That’s right, but all of the bicycle infra in San Sebastian looks very much spanish, unlike the infra in the french part of the basque country. I looked it up for you, the bicicleaner can be found also in f.e. Asturias. Never seen it in France.

That would genuinely be a bike-saver for me since In my city the roads are salted in the winter and having the option to spray it down would prevent it from rusting.

We (Boston) have bicycle repair stations, that give you the chance to put the bike up on a stand and use some basic tools. They are along cycle paths. The air pumps unfortunately are almost always out of service.

I have seen those around here too, but have not had a closer look at those. They are a lot more usual though, i have seen them pretty much everywhere in europe.

But i have never seen bike cleaning stations before.

We also have those in Michigan. When I moved here I was so happy to see them at most of the parks.

What a nice public service! It’s the little things that make cycling better.

Yeah. A couple weeks ago i came across this little monument, on top of small mountain pass in the middle of nowhere really, a small quiet road where i had seen zero cars.

The sign said: “In recognition of all the people who explore our province by bicycle - Provincial council of Albacete”

I did not expect this and i found it a really nice surprise. There were also a few bicycle stands and a picnic table.

I was thinking to write them a thank you note.
