I wish to roam about the fediverse and see the sights.

I think so far Lemmy is small enough that i just set ā€œall communitiesā€ and I find communities interesting (and less šŸ™‚) and I subscribe to them

Yep, thatā€™s how Iā€™ve been doing it. There arenā€™t enough warm bodies on here to try and find niche communities yet.

NonCredibleDefense itā€™s a buncha memes about war and feminization of war. Originally designed to show that anyone including femboys can be blood thirsty killing machines because Chinese media painted the west as ā€œThey/Them Armiesā€ Hillarious, inclusive and even unintentionally wholesome at times.

Occasionally get credible links posted there too. Itā€™s hilarious and informative!

NCD is unique to me because it seems to hold shitposters of every stripe and from every walk. Being truly non-credible requires a working knowledge of credibility, so it all balances out.

As far as I can tell, subscribing to a community instantly kills all activity in that community. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve seen any activity in any of the communities Iā€™ve subscribed to. So as far as I can tell Lemmy is a place people go to talk about which instances are defederating which other instances. I might stop logging in.

Sort by new and accept the fact that it doesnā€™t have millions of users and isnā€™t one of the top ten websites on the internet, contrary to Reddit.

Oh and subscribe to communities on bigger instances.

PatientGamers, one of the communities that got me to make the jump off of reddit. Itā€™s a games discussion subreddit community with a focus on games that arenā€™t new or currently super popular. Not as far back as the retrogaming enthusiasts, though.

Thats one of the first places I started commenting. Great idea for a community. I rarely buy games during the initial release so perfect for me.
