Why even make the whole Roman empire up? It’s like the flat Earth shit. What’s the point in hiding this? There’s just no logic to those conspiracy bullshit.

You see, they hide the fact that the earth is flat because they can hang “space” lasers from the firmament and tell everyone it’s impossible while burning down all of the houses that aren’t 66.6hz devil blue without suspicion.

The issue with the Romans is that without the Roman empire we don’t have the evil Roman Catholic Church. Big Hat is in league with them because the “church” is the single largest purchaser of Pope hats in the world. Follow the money! Do your own research! Evangelicals are the only ones who don’t have lasers or wear hats so that’s the one true religion. There’s no economic reason for evangelicals to hide things.

Or something like that, probably.

Flat Earth? Firmament?

Sir, I assure you that the Earth is round… For the Space Lasers move separately from the stars fixed upon the Firmament! Clearly they are hung within the Crystal Spheres which revolve around us! And how could those divine Spheres revolve, were the Earth not round?

It’s not about the information itself, it’s about getting the people who are dumb enough to believe this to question all of their education.

“If they were wrong about this what else were they wrong about?”

Whoever started this little ‘rumor’ is heavily suspect.

Well, the Romans were fakes though. Bunch of knock-off, budget Etruscans. Couldn’t even come up with their own pantheon and instead just copied it from the Greeks. 😋

Holy crap, I actually think I understand some of what happened here. It sounds like someone learned about the Byzantine Empire and got very confused.

The western half of the Roman Empire fell in the 5th century, but the eastern half didn’t collapse until the 15th century. The surviving eastern half has been retroactively named the Byzantine Empire, but when it existed was just called the Roman Empire or the Empire of the Greeks, depending on the year and where you were at. The eastern capital (and Rome had two for a while for administrative purposes, along with two emperors) was Constantinople and it was specifically designed and advertised as a second Rome to justify having a capital there.

I think this guy learned about the Byzantine Empire / Eastern Roman Empire, but not how it relates to the Western Roman Empire. Throw in some assumptions, some logical fallacies, a poor understanding of linguistics and transliteration, and then serve with some conspiratorial thinking on the side and you get the above post.
